How does it fell being the 10th Miss Pakistan World?

Being chosen as Miss Pakistan World 2012 is an honor. I can not put in to words on how blessed and excited I feel. To be amongst those who are striving for a positive change not only for Pakistani women, but women all around the world is an amazing feeling. I always wanted to be part of an organization that focuses mainly on Women Empowerment. I believe with this crown, I have bestowed upon myself the responsibility of working towards educating people about Pakistani culture. Throughout this year I shall strive to bring Pakistan in a positive light.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

Well I come from a family of five. My mom is my number one supporter and motivator as well as my two wonderful supportive brothers, which makes me the only girl in the family. I came to America when I was 10 years old and have lived in New York since then. I come from a family of entrepreneurs and today I am self employed. I am a graduate of Pace University with a degree in Finance and economics. I consider myself to be a very adventurous person; therefore some of my hobbies include dancing, swimming and playing sports. On my pastime, I enjoy watching movies. I am a very ambitious person and firmly believe everyday is a gift to make your dreams come true. My Ultimate dream is to reach out and help to those less fortunate regardless of nationality, gender, culture or beliefs.

How was your experience at the Miss Pakistan World 2012 pageant?

My experience at Miss Pakistan World 2012 was amazing. I met some very talented, educated group of people. All the contestants were vey humble and had their own set of stories to share. Since most of us were from all around the globe, we shared some very interesting facts about our life styles in our countries. We all became very close like a loving caring family. We worked very hard and gave this pageant our 100 percent. I worked with some very talented professionals such as my photographers, makeup artist, the film and the camera crew. From our event coordinator to our chorographer, everyone has taught me lessons that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Last but not least, it was a privilege to meet a woman such as Sonia Ahmed who has dedicated to this pageant a decade of her life. She truly exemplifies women setting a positive change within our community. I am positive that she has become an inspiration for the women that have previously participated and will participate in this pageant. Sonia along with the judges have changed my life by giving me the opportunity to represent Pakistan Internationally. I can not thank the organization of Miss Pakistan World enough for believing in me.

What are your future plans?

My immediate Future Plans are to represent Pakistan in one of the third largest beauty pageants in the World, Miss Earth. I am very honored and excited to be part of something this big. I believe being Miss Pakistan World has opened many new doors of opportunities for me and I am ready to experience it all.

What do you want to do with your year as Miss Pakistan World?

I plan to continue educating our communities about Pakistani Culture. I want to eradicate the misperceptions that people have about us. I believe by educating our youth, one day we can have a peaceful loving world. Throughout this year I want to travel the world and work with women dealing with abuse. I believe that it is one of the biggest issues that our country is facing today. I want to set an encourage women worldwide to stand up for their rights, to voice their opinions and enforce their rights not just as women but as human beings. I believe that we can achieve anything that we put our heart in to; we just need to continue being the strong powerful women that we are.

How are you preparing for Miss Earth?

I have been very focused on Miss Earth Pageant. I am constantly expanding my knowledge about global and environmental issues. As a former Model United Nations participant during my undergrad years at Pace University I am well aware of the constant struggles our world faces in the preservation of our environment. However, I am continuing my preparation not only in environmental issues I continue my focus on humanitarian issues as well seeing as how one is intertwined with the other. I am honing my focus on ways to educate our youth, to break past boundaries and strive for modernity leading towards the conservation and improvement of our environment. In addition continuing a healthy lifestyle to me is essential on my efforts to be fully prepared for the pageant. Good nutrition and daily workouts are a part of my routine to be primed for the pageant.

Are you excited to be in the world’s third largest pageant?

Yes, I am very excited and I can not wait for this experience. I know this will be another life changing experience for me from which I am sure will allow me to broaden my horizons as a person.

Any advice for other aspiring beauty queens!

I would tell all those who are interested in becoming the next Miss Pakistan World or whichever beauty pageant they may choose to be a part of that this can be the best experience of their lives. If you wish to follow your dreams, don’t let anyone stop you. There is nothing wrong with standing up for your ideals or your dreams and to always believe in yourself. If I’ve been able to make it this far it’s because I am a strong opinioned woman that does not let anyone bring her down.
