Riwayat are proud to announce some of our star models for the up-coming Pakistan Fashion Week London 3. Needing no introduction is Nadya Malik, one of Pakistan’s top models and Kelly Knox, one of Britain’s truly inspirational models.
Nadya Malik Fashion Model
Nadya Malik needs no introduction. Super model, fashion icon and a mother of one, Nadya excels at everything she does and has overcome every obstacle thrown her way.
Starting as a model in 1999 under top photographers and stylists such as Athar Shahzad, she has bagged campaigns from megabrands such as Pepsi, Lipton, Fair and Lovely and the Jazz network. She soon became a household name in Pakistan being a role model for women across the country. Her talent has graced catwalks in London, Tokyo, Dubai and the US. Known for her brains as much as her beauty, Nadya has a Political Science and Philosophy degree, and enjoys intellectual debates as much as she loves fashion.
With over 50 magazine covers to her credit, Nadya is a favourite of designers and directors alike. Her presence on the catwalk demands attention and helps create sensational shows in Pakistan and abroad. Currently living in London with her husband and 1 year old daughter, she continues to contribute to the world of fashion locally and supports Pakistani fashion and Pakistani women.
Kelly Knox Fashion Model
Kelly’s lists of achievements are remarkable and truly inspirational. Her enthusiasm and readiness of accepting her disability has allowed her to cross boundaries and inspire many.
Born without a left forearm, Kelly has always opposed society’s notion of wearing a prosthetic arm. She hopes to dismiss preconceptions about what it means to be disabled, to pave the way for others in the same situation and to offer inspiration to those who need to develop confidence in the face of negative attitudes towards disability.
Winner of Britain’s missing top model in 2008 and featuring in the legendary pages of Marie Claire and Diva magazine, Kelly has always done incredible work. She is the face for Vivi+Vivi Jewellery and worked on campaigns such as V05, “Think for Oslo City” in Norway and “How to look good naked” – Gok Wan.
Supporting various charities like REACH (association for children with upper limb deficiency) and speaking in public about her ‘ability’, Kelly has truly inspired a whole new generation. As the preparations get under way for PFW 3, we will keep you updated with our progress. Look forward to seeing you at Pakistan Fashion Week London 3.
